Visiting the Church?
Here's what you can expect

  • What is it like?
    • Ione Community UMC is a local congregation within the United Methodist Church. Since 1853 we have been serving the people of our community as a place of worship. The sanctuary was built in the 1860s but it has been updated to include heating and air,  so we can be comfortable in church. Our style of worship is traditional, but open to all people. We sing hymns, but we also have a projector and screen so it's easy to follow along.

  • What about my kids?
    • Children worship alongside their families. We do have children's bulletins and crayons/color pencils that go along with the scriptures for each Sunday. Kids are welcome to participate, to sing, even to make a little noise -- they are kids after all, and Jesus welcomed them just as they are.

  • Is the church accessible?
    • We have an elevator to help assist anyone with mobility issues located on the first floor.

  • What do I wear?
    • There is no dress code, you should wear whatever feels comfortable for church. Jeans, dresses, suit and tie if that's what works. God knows who you are and is concerned more about what is inside of you than what shows on the outside. We just ask that whatever you wear is respectful of the other church attendees.
